Questions people ask

Do I need a certificate for a new Stove?

Yes. Fitting a Stove is building work under building regulations, so it has to be signed off. A HETAS-registered installer can certify the work themselves; otherwise it goes through your local council's building control.

Can I have a wood burner in a smoke control area?

Yes, as long as the Stove is a Defra-exempt (approved) appliance and you burn the right fuel. We'll check your address and recommend Stoves that are allowed.

Do you fit gas Fires?

Yes. Any gas work is carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers we work with, so it's fitted and certified properly.

Wood-burning or multi-fuel?

A wood-burning Stove is built for logs. A multi-fuel Stove can burn logs or approved smokeless fuel. We'll talk you through which suits how you'll use it.
